DESCRIPTION:The new exhibition series is inspired by the film Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai by Jim Jarmush from the year 1999 that portrays the story of societal outsiders\, living in a sort of parallel universe and learning of the consequences of absolute dedication to one’s own self as an ideal. \n\n\nA TRANS has invited a selection of protagonists to depict their own (or a chosen) journey through life. \n\n\nPeter Piek is an artist and musician who has developed a very unique artistic visual language. Partly he creates his artistic world while traveling. In the performances he alternates between painting and making music. He finds his freedom in time through repeat and rhythm and in space through colors. \n\n\nIn the A TRANS vitrine Peter Piek starts a new experiment ‘in the underground‘\, directly on the platform and visible to the public. \n\n\nPeter Piek lives and works in Leipzig\, he studied at the Academy of Arts Leipzig. \n\n\n  \n\n\n(German summary) \n\n\nTHE END IS IMPORTANT IN ALL THINGS (Das Ende ist wichtig in allen Dingen) \n\n\nDie neue Ausstellungsserie A Ghost Dog City ist inspiriert von dem Film Ghost Dog–Der Weg des Samurai von Jim Jarmush aus dem Jahr 1999. Der Film schildert die Geschichte von Außenseitern einer Gesellschaft\, die in einer Art Parallelwelt leben und die Konsequenzen einer bedingungslosen Hingabe des eigenen Ichs an ein Ideal erfahren. \n\n\nA TRANS lädt ausgewählte Protagonisten dazu ein\, ihre (oder eine) Lebensreise zu thematisieren. \n\n\nPeter Piek ist Künstler und Musiker\, er hat eine sehr eigene Bildsprache entwickelt. Teilweise erschafft er seine künstlerische Welt auch auf Reisen. Bei den Performances wechselt er zwischen Malerei und Musikmachen.
