SUMMARY:A trans feat. Concha Argüeso: SISTAS - Die Kunst der Freundschaft
DESCRIPTION:(The Art of Friendship) \nOpening \nThursday\, 22.10.2026      6:30 – 7:00 pm \nThe artist will be present. \n  \nExhibition \n23.10.2026 – 31.12.2026     24/7 \n  \nConcha Argüeso’s installation „Sistas“ unfolds as a landscape of books\, light\, and colored shadows throughout the space. It is a tribute to friendship—to that special bond that unites freedom\, trust\, and joy. \nThe heads that appear in the installation are those of the artist’s friends. Concha Argüeso shares life paths\, memories\, and experiences with them. From this personal connection arises art\, in the words of Jorge Luis Borges (from the poem „Another Poem of Gifts“) a unique „art of friendship.“ \nThe „Sistas\,“ cut from books\, also represent flexibility. They constantly change their configurations and thus their meaning. They were „Heroines“ in Berlin City Hall (2012)\, part of „Ars Visibilis“ in Almería (2013)\, „Berliners“ in the Vanguardia Gallery in Bilbao (2019) – and now return to Berlin as contemporary „Sistas.“ \nIn the installation\, colorful shadows become visible between matter and light. They appear familiar and cheerful\, creating a vibrant yet mysterious space between the „Sistas“ that represents more than just the individual connection – a place of hope and transformation. \n„Sistas“ invites us to perceive friendship more consciously as a creative and social force and embodies the artist’s desire to experience this exhibition herself as an act of friendship. \nConcha Argüeso lives and works as an artist in Berlin\, and has been friends with A TRANS since its inception 20 years ago. \nFor further information: \nwww.atrans.org  |  www.conchaargüeso.eu \nInstagram: @atrans  |  @conchargueso

SUMMARY:Plastic Fantastic
DESCRIPTION:Plastic Fantastic\nExhibition: 23 October – 4 December 2026 \nNanoplastics in our brains\, plastic in the Arctic. Our practical\, durable helper is everywhere\, and production volumes are rising. As a product of the fossil-fuel industry\, plastic pollutes nature as waste and through its breakdown products\, while nano- and microplastics enter our bodies. Recycling does not work. We must reduce plastic volumes worldwide and switch to safe materials. \nWhat does this mean for people\, and what can we do? Who is actively working against the problem? \nArtists\n23 artists present objects\, video\, installation\, performance\, and painting: \nTom Albrecht\, Sandra Becker\, Carsten Borck\, Manuela J. Covini\, Marita Czepa\, Kuesti Fraun\, Stephan Groß\, Shivkumar KV\, Maria Korporal\, Heike Krause\, Thomas Möller\, Sibylle Möndel\, Annegret Müller\, Thomas Neumaier\, Bodo Niggemann\, Dodi Reifenberg\, Robin Romanski\, Petra Steeger\, Andrea Striesova\, Mark Swysen\, Alina Tofan\, Andrea Übelacker\, Ruzica Zajec \nProgramme\n23 October 2026\, 7 pm — Vernissage\nWelcome: Tom Albrecht\nIntroduction to the exhibition: Katja Hock\nFiddle & folk music\, “What Lasts”: Lyn Shuck \nTuesday\, 27 October\, 7 pm — Talk and discussion: “Stopping the Plastic Flood. Micro- and nanoplastics\, as well as chemicals from plastic packaging\, can migrate into our food—and therefore into our bodies. Plastic-free shopping must not be a luxury: it must be accessible and affordable for everyone.
