SUMMARY:Wir feiern die 150. Ausstellung! Music With An Open End - Ambient Evening with LEFT WINTER (Manchester/Berlin)
DESCRIPTION:Ambient Evening on Thursday\, October 6th\, 2022 from 7 pm (free of charge) \nto the 150th Axel Obiger’s Exhibition: OPEN END Petra Karadimas / Gabriele Künne \nLEFT WINTER is a composer and contemporary visual & sound artist.\nBased in Manchester and Berlin\, his work spans sound and images that navigate the transitional area of music\, science + art. \nWith work composed of analogue and virtual orchestral components and sound design\, LEFT WINTER composes uniquely with a strong signature of ethereal sounds that are intelligently layered with minimalist components that capture and captivate the imaginations of listeners\, producing journeys of sound that take listeners with them. \nWith sweeping melodies underscored by drones\, orchestral parts and unexpected glitches that flit through his music\, his music scores the stories behind autobiographical\, factual and fictional concepts. Recent German influences take presence in the form of bells\, crossing signals\, open spaces and the deep sounds of stationary\, heavy trains. \nIn the main his music is symphonic and with titles including ‘We Formed Ourselves Into Tight Groups’\, listeners are left forming their own mental\, visual\, scenes that span emotions of epic\, horror and tragedy. \nLEFT WINTER’s practice also combines visual work; monochrome photography\, print\, physical and moving image pieces; minimalist and sparse\, these often function alongside and support his compositions. \nHis performances explore captured sound\, often evolving live in a public / exhibition space\, with visual works strongly linked to communication and science. SUMMARY:Haunting Ground w/ Basma al-Sharif
DESCRIPTION:Haunting Ground w/ Basma al-Sharif – screening followed by a conversation with Abina Manning \nFriday\, 14 October 2022 / 7.30pm\nanorak / Markgrafenstr. 85 / 10969 Berlin \nExploring the nature of story-telling and playfully manipulating our perception of time and place\, Basma al-Sharif’s short films are self-contained journeys that transport\, hypnotise\, lull\, and shake. Developing her practice between the Middle East\, U.S.\, and Europe\, al-Sharif’s films speculate on what home looks like\, and what having to leave it produces. In her films\, home is a landscape\, a body\, a song\, and ultimately something that is felt rather than understood. Often centring on the Gaza Strip\, the place that is the closest and least accessible to the artist\, her films rely on a subtle humour to look past the present and into the future. \nScreening: \nHigh Noon\, 2014\, 5′\, excerpt of an endless loop\, colour\, sound\nHome Movies Gaza\, 2013\, 24′\, colour\, sound\nTurkish Delight\, 2010\, 2’30“\, colour\, sound\nDeep Sleep\, 2014\, 14′\, colour\, sound\nGirls Only\, 2014\, 2’28“\, colour\, sound\nThe Story of Milk and Honey\, 2011\, 9’54“\, colour\, sound \nThe screening will be followed by a conversation with Abina Manning\, former Director of the Video Data Bank in Chicago\, newly re-located to Berlin.\n—\nHaunting Ground is the 7th edition of Seeing Is Believing\, anorak’s monthly series presenting artists‘ moving image\, curated by Lukas Ludwig and Johanna Markert and realised with the kind support of Anorak e. V. members. \nImage: Basma al-Sharif\, Home Movies Gaza\, HD video\, 24′\, 2013 (film still)

SUMMARY:WEITER – VOLLDAMPF VORAUS - finnfemfel
DESCRIPTION:Eröffnung: Freitag\, den 28. \nBild: finnfemfel-porträts-all-in-one.jpg: Ego All in One\, Fine Art Print\, 42 x 60 cm\, 2022
