SUMMARY:A trans feat. Natalia Irina Roman: STRECKEN II STÜCKE
DESCRIPTION:Opening \nSamstag\, 10.01.2026      18:30 Uhr \nExhibition \n11.01.2026 – 06.02.2026     24/7 \nSTRECKEN || STÜCKE is an installation by Natalia Irina Roman\, growing out of her long-term cooperation with Deutsche Bahn (since 2017) and BVG (since 2022). Within these collaborations\, she has transformed sites along the tracks — including former interlocking towers and train control rooms — into spaces for art. From this sustained engagement with the railway\, a range of formats has emerged\, in and along the train system\, in which train journeys themselves become artistic experiences. \nA train moves through the vitrine: station names\, S-Bahn windows and trains of thought collected between Vienna and Istanbul loosen\, drift and intertwine. The view from the train window subtly shifts — the everyday becomes charged\, and each journey turns into a new piece. \nNatalia Irina Roman is an installation artist and city researcher who has been developing site-specific works since 2010 across a wide range of contexts\, including large-scale and industrial spaces. Since 2017\, her artistic practice has increasingly unfolded in relation to the railway\, where art\, space and movement intersect. In 2024\, she worked in the railway context in New York City and its surroundings as a Fulbright fellow. In 2025\, she was invited to the conference „Railway Aesthetics“\, which took place on two trains travelling between Vienna and Istanbul. During the journey\, she collected the trains of thought of fellow passengers and presented her long-term work in the railway context. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany and internationally. Alongside her artistic practice\, she currently teaches at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and previously led courses at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar\, where train journeys themselves become sites of artistic exploration. \nFor further information: \nhttps://www.atrans.org/  |  https://www.nataliairinaroman.eu\nInstagram: @atrans  |  #gesternstellwerk auf www.instagram.com/sitespecificideas \nSupported by \nBerliner S-Bahn Museum  & Frauenförderfonds Bauhaus-Universität Weimar

SUMMARY:Vernissage "Madness and Practice" Liz Dawson + Lucy Teasdale
DESCRIPTION:Madness and Practice\nLiz Dawson + Lucy Teasdale\nEröffnung: Freitag\, 16. Januar\, 19 Uhr\n17. Januar – 7. \nEnglish \nIn Madness and Practice\, Liz Dawson’s paintings and drawings and Lucy Teasdale’s sculptures draw us into a space where gestures\, surfaces\, and fragments fold back onto themselves\, narrating a persistence in small but deliberate shifts. Marks that initially suggest they were quickly made and forms that appear pliable reveal how the seemingly futile can overlap with an attentiveness that is breathtakingly poetic.
