Dezember 2022\nvon Donnerstag bis Dienstag\, 16-20 Uhr \nDer Film „0º00 Navigation Part I“ zeigt eine obsessive und gestörte Reise genau entlang des Meridians von Greenwich. Immer von hinten gesehen\, schwimmt ein Mensch im Meer\, wo der Längengrad 0º00’00“ die Südküste Großbritanniens trifft. Er entsteigt dem Meer mit einem GPS-Gerät und läuft mit diesem direkt nach Norden entlang der 0º-Linie. Jedes Hindernis\, auf das er stößt\, wird überwunden und er bahnt sich allmählich seinen Weg durch den Südosten Großbritanniens\, durch London\, die Midlands und taucht schließlich bei Cleethorpes\, Lincolnshire\, wieder ins Meer ein\, wo er langsam in die Nordsee schwimmt. In 0º00 Navigation wird ein hypothetisches Konstrukt der Geografie so behandelt\, als sei es ein reales Phänomen – ein Weg\, der vorgezeichnet ist. Der Meridian von Greenwich halbiert Südengland\, weil er hier aus Verträgen\, Karten und der Mechanik der kolonialen Seemacht entstanden ist. \nEnglish \nThe film ‘0º00 Navigation Part I’ shows an obsessive and deranged journey exactly along the Greenwich Meridian. Always seen from behind\, a figure swims out of the sea where the 0º00’00” line of longitude hits the south-coast of Britain. The figure emerges out of the water carrying a GPS device and using this\, then proceeds to walk directly north along the 0º line. Any obstacle encountered is negotiated and he gradually makes his way up through southeast Britain\, through London\, the Midlands and ultimately re-enters the sea at Cleethorpes\, Lincolnshire\, where he slowly swims away into the North Sea. In 0º00 Navigation a hypothetical construct of geography that is is treated as if it were a real phenomenon – a path mapped out to follow. The Greenwich meridian bisects southern England because it was here that it was fabricated out of treaties\, maps and the mechanics of colonial\, naval power. \nSimon Faithfull b.1966\, UK; lives and works in Berlin.\nSimon Faithfull’s wide-ranging practice is well known internationally and his artworks are represented in many public collections including the Pompidou Centre\, France and The Government Art Collection\, UK. Faithfull studied at Central St.Martins and Reading University and is also a professor at the Slade School of Fine Art\, UCL\, London. Recent exhibitions include solo presentations at Galerie Polaris\, Paris\, Naturkunde Museum in Berlin\, and The Exchange in Penzance\, UK. DESCRIPTION:Public Film Screening\n15.- 20. Dezember 2022\nvon Donnerstag bis Dienstag\, 16-20 Uhr \nFür die Obiger-Lichtspiele bringt Susanne Hofer das Meer nach Berlin. In einer Serie von fünf kurzen Videos arrangiert sie Plastikmüll\, sie lässt Inseln schwimmen\, erweckt einen Staubsauger zum Leben und betrachtet die bewegende Schönheit einer Muschelsammlung. Und ein eingeklemmter und beschädigter Spiderman-Ballon entwickelt in der Meeresbrise ungeahnte Kräfte. \nSusanne Hofer\, *1970 lebt und arbeitet in Zürich. Studium an der Hochschule Luzern – Design & Kunst. Sie arbeitet seit über 20 Jahren als Künstlerin im Bereich Video und Videoinstallation\, und stellt international aus. Sie erhielt zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Stipendien für Auslandaufenthalte (z.B in Berlin\, Genua\, New York\, Miami und Ecuador) und für Projekte. Sie entwickelt und hält Workshops in Gestaltung an Kunst- sowie an Mittelschulen. Sie ist Co-Präsidentin des Vereins Kunsthaus Aussersihl und Mitorganisatorin des Projektraums Wall & Stage\, beide in Zürich. \nEnglish \nFor the Obiger-Lichtspiele\, Susanne Hofer brings the sea to Berlin. In a series of five short videos\, she arranges plastic waste\, makes islands float\, brings a vacuum cleaner to life and contemplates the moving beauty of a shell collection. DESCRIPTION:Public Film Screening\n26.-31. Dezember 2022\nvon Montag bis Samstag\, 16-20 Uhr \nIn ihrer fotografischen und filmischen Arbeit erforscht Katya Gardea Browne verschiedene Ökosysteme in ihrer mexikanischen Heimat. Als würde sie ein narratives Muster durchbrechen und gegen die chronologische Ordnung arbeiten\, nutzt sie ihre fotografischen Aufzeichnungen ausgewählter Landschaften\, um ein\, wie sie es nennt\, „Panoramabild der Umweltzerstörung“ zu schaffen. Die Gegenüberstellung von historischen Dokumentationen\, alten Filmen und Fotografien mit neuem Bildmaterial ist ein wesentlicher Bestandteil dieser dynamischen künstlerischen Methode. (Rapp\, Art Laboratory Berlin\, 2016).\nIm Hinterfragen der eigenen Beziehung zu Natur und Umwelt\, nutze ich die Kamera\, um das Objektiv zu fokussieren und neu zu fokussieren. Die Verwandlung einer Stadtlandschaft\, Orte dazwischen\, Brüche und Grenzen\, d.h. die festen und nicht festen Punkte. Ihre Arbeit umfasst ein Vokabular aus Videoinstallation\, Skulptur und Fotografie und wirft Fragen der Positionierung und Materialität sowie eine ständige Auseinandersetzung mit dem Körper\, der Architektur und interkulturellen Kontexten auf. Sie hat einen Master-Abschluss in Bildender Kunst von der Yale University und hat in internationalen Kontexten sowie in Deutschland ausgestellt\, u. a. in der Arthena Foundation in Düsseldorf und im KINDL Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst in Berlin mit der Ausstellung Ruinen der Gegenwart“.
